AW 20 Collection – Calling All Paisley Punks
In the late 70’s, the Punk music scene brought edge and anarchy to Glasgow, which eventually led to Punk being banned from the city in 1977.
Local promoter known as ‘Disco Harry’ saw this as an opportunity, and drew the crowds 11 miles down the road to his town of Paisley … which later went on to become one of the first places to launch a Punk Record company ‘Groucho Marxist’. Although today Punk bands are allowed to play in Glasgow, Paisley remains home of the Punk scene, and where you will still find people in ripped clothing, Mohican's and pin badges.
Begg x Co's AW20 collection "Calling all Paisley Punks" follows the story of two artists who go to extremes to find adventure and originality; fleeing the everyday and rediscovering the foundations of Scottish Culture. For #beggxco, it's an attitude, a coolness and a style. Primal Nature translates into a raw artisan aesthetic, co-ordinated with modern urban eloquence.
They revisit plaids, checks, tartans and knits to create archaic style with primal screams of colour. Every piece is imagined and realised with meticulous care, dedication and love. Discover their debut knitwear and accessories collection, online now.
