Inside Access: Hyperdunk 2013
March 2008 ushered in a new breed of basketball shoe as the Nike Hyperdunk debuted for the Beijing games. Kobe Bryant soared over a car in a viral film playing on the shoe’s minimal weight, while athletes, commentators, designers and sneakerheads marveled at the Hyperdunk’s futuristic, bold aesthetic. Designed by Eric Avar, the original 2008 Nike Hyperdunk seamlessly fused form and function in a design many thought was years ahead of its time. When introduced, the avant garde silhouette drew
its share of naysayers, but its on-court performance benefits put to rest any criticism. Nike Basketball set a design standard others could only aspire to. Now in its new 2013 edition, the Nike Hyperdunk continues to evolve...
