The German motorcycle racer #jonasfolger is revving up: a new racing series, a new motorbike and a new racing suit. The incumbent IDM Superbike champion is going into the 2021 season to the starting line of the Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) on a BMW. With the intention of presenting the optimum package, the ex-MotoGP rider is relying on leather suits from the iXS brand going forward. iXS are pleased to be able to welcome #jonasfolger as a new member of the iXS family and assure him of their full support in his new project.

The reigning IDM Superbike champion is setting off wearing iXS racing suits in the WorldSBK

Sursee, 16 February 2021 - #jonasfolger dominated the IDM Superbike at will in 2020: he won all races in an impressive way. Jonas is now taking the next step and starting with Team Bonovo Action BMW in the Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK). Jonas tackles the prestigious championship with its closeto-production superbike racing motorcycles on a BMW M1000RR. The new cooperation with iXS, an established and experienced manufacturer of motorcycle apparel from head to foot, should enable Jonas to further advance his success story.

iXS will fit #jonasfolger out with customised leather combination suits. iXS has begun intensive cooperation with him to make it possible for Jonas to achieve the top results he strives for. The objective is to make the entire package of rider, personal protective equipment and motorcycle even more competitive. iXS will do everything possible to support Jonas in meeting his personal requirements with suitable solutions.

Jonas Folger’s entry into Team Bonovo Action BMW sees a Bavarian rider on a Bavarian motorbike lining up within a German team in the #worldsbk for the first time. On his inaugural visit to the headquarters of iXS and hostettler ag in Sursee (Switzerland) #jonasfolger described his delight at the new cooperation:

rookie season with high expectations, and would like to ride in the top 10 at all times. However, everything must fit together optimally to achieve this.

Folger’s successful career as five-times Grand-Prix winner (Moto2 and Moto3)

Jonas Folger has lived for motorcycle sport since his early childhood. At 16 years, Folger celebrated his debut in the 125 CC world championship and was voted Rookie of the Year in 2009. In the same year he was awarded the title of ADAC junior motorcyclist of the year. 2011 saw his first Grand Prix win at Silverstone. At the age of 17 years and 303 days, he thereby became the youngest German race winner in the history of the motorcycle world championship. In 2014, he switched to the Moto2 class. After some wins and places, he succeeded in being promoted to MotoGP in 2017 and he stood at the pinnacle of his career. When racing in the Sachsenring (GER) he achieved the fastest lap and stood in second place on the podium. After a year as a MotoGP test rider for Yamaha, Folger 2020 became the IDM German Superbike champion. With his entry to #worldsbk in Team Bonovo Action BMW, #jonasfolger is opening up a new chapter of his career.
