Optimism and an eagerness for recovery at Pitti Bimbo 82: Buyer attendance is up by +5%, with the total expected to reach 7,000
Winds of optimism for international junior fashion have been blowing at the Fortezza da Basso during the current edition of Pitti Immagine Bimbo: packed stands, positive feedback for the latest ideas presented in the collections and the great quality of the members of the trade attending, high levels of participation at all the special events on the fair calendar. The half-time attendance figures show that the number of buyers grew by 5% and, if this trend continues, the total number of buyers should reach 7,000 (there were 6,700 a year ago), and over 10,000 visitors in total.
In international terms the overall figures should confirm the levels recorded a year ago (2,400 buyers from over 50 countries), with a comforting increase in the number of stores present (+1.5%). One element to be emphasized with great satisfaction is the return of buyers from Russia (+8% in terms of the number of stores) and from Ukraine (almost 80% more buyers than a year ago); many European markets are registering positive performances (Spain +4%, United Kingdom +33%, Holland +3%, Greece ), Germany and France remained steady; there was also an increase for the United States, China almost doubled the number of buyers and there was strong growth for South Korea and for the main markets in the Middle Eastern area, but a fall for Turkey and Hong Kong.
An even more positive sign for the children’s fashion market was the significant growth in the numbers from Italy, which is currently registering 8% growth, and is on its way to a total attendance of around 4,600 buyers.
