Eluxe Magazine launches The Clean Ribbon Alliance

ELUXE MAGAZINE announces the launch of the charity, #thecleanribbon. With the support of sustainable brands such as #reveenvert, #luxebotanics, #virtuevice, #fromclothing and #pritinyc, 1% of all profits from partnering brands will be donated to support research and education into the potential relationship of everyday chemicals commonly found in personal care products and textiles to the causes of cancer.

Forming an allegiance that serves the public and rallies the cry #keepitclean, #thecleanribbon hopes to increase people's awareness that personal grooming products and clothing textiles can be loaded with potentially harmful chemicals.

When sufficient funds are raised, independent scientists will investigate whether certain ingredients we are exposed to in clothing dyes, cosmetics, skincare and grooming products contain potential carcinogens leading to cancer. Results will be published on The Clean Ribbon's online information portal www.cleanribbon.com allowing the public to make healthier #beauty and style choices for themselves and their families.

The aim will be to make the site a portal for consumers to access information on the issue of toxins in apparel and cosmetics, and to supply a directory of 100% non-toxic #fashion and #beauty brands so the public can make a more informed choice when it comes to keeping it clean.

ELUXE Magazine Editor, Chere Di Boscio, and Trustee on the Board of #thecleanribbon comments: "Too often, consumers have no idea about the chemicals used in their clothes and #beauty products. But they should! After all, these toxins are absorbed by the skin, which is our biggest organ, and then enter the bloodstream. #thecleanribbon aims to help consumers make wiser, healthier choices."

JeneĢ Roestorf, Founder of #luxebotanics comments: "We are 100% dedicated to the cause of honest #beauty and conscientiously formulated skin care. We believe in the power nature has to nurture and are proud to stand alongside some incredible brands who are all of one mind to #keepitclean."

Melanie DiSalvo of virtue+vice says: "There is not enough scientific information about the long- term and cumulative effects caused by the chemicals in the apparel industry. Research is crucial to first understand the damage that has already been caused by these toxins and secondly to develop a plan for the future."

The Clean Ribbon's Board of Trustees includes Philanthropist Lady Charlotte Lynham, Wellness Expert Shannon Hoffman, Al Thani Foundation CEO Sara Saud Al Thani, and #eluxemagazine Editor Chere Di Boscio. Direct donations from apparel and #beauty brands, the public and gala events are the main ways that #thecleanribbon raises money for cancer prevention research so if you want to get involved then please reach out through the website or by contacting Editor of #eluxemagazine Chere Di Boscio at chere@eluxemagazine.com
