Roberto Paolini. Jewels from the Collection, at Sotheby's in Milan

ROBERTO PAOLINI. JEWELS FROM THE COLLECTION. Palazzo Serbelloni, Corso Venezia 16, Milan

Sotheby's, in collaboration with Paolini Archive, at Palazzo Serbelloni, in Milan, celebrated with an exclusive show the conclusion of the project #robertopaolini. Jewels from the Collection, which began last October and which involved prestigious museums and private foundations.
A grand tour across Italy that was enthusiastically received by an extraordinarily wide network of exceptional hosts: Museion in Bolzano, Mart in Rovereto, Palazzo Fortuny in Venice, MAMbo in Bologna, Macro in Rome, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo in Turin, Fondazione Pier Luigi e Natalina Remotti in Camogli, Collezione Tullio Leggeri - ALT in Bergamo and Collezione Ernesto Esposito in Naples.
An excellent project which promotes Roberto Paolini's extraordinary sculpture-jewelry production, dating back to the 80s and 90s. The result of his tireless individual research, they are "more like wearable sculptures. Elaborated, unpredictable, precious artworks. Unique artworks" - as pointed out by Adriana Polveroni, professor of Contemporary Museology at the Academy of Brera – and they will be on display both in glass cases and, for the occasion, worn by models.
In culmination of the exhibition has been presented in absolute preview, with the kind presence of Daniela Mascetti, Senior Specialist of Sotheby's Jewellery, Daniela Ferretti, Director of Palazzo Fortuny, Wanda Rotelli, Director Press & Communication Sotheby's, Elena Paolini, Director of #archiviopaolini, the monograph dedicated to the collection, edited by Adriana Polveroni and published by Maretti Editore, that collects shots captured on stage in a special section titled Backstage at the Museum. A synthetic and productive dialogue between museum architecture and sculpture-jewelry that cannot be reduced to the binomial photographer / model, and which is shown in a double vision in Maicol Casale's video, and will be presented, as first preview, in Milan on June 23.
A project confirming that the virtuoso dialogue between public and private sectors can converge in high-value initiatives, in a revival that can compete at international level. The initiative, revealing the high caliber and appreciation extended beyond Italian borders, will continue abroad in the coming year, hosted by international museums and collections. Thus, with a strong national support, this is the beginning of a brilliant path taking the initiative to project itself into the world confirming that Italy, also through the works of Maestro Paolini, still knows how to act as a protagonist of the international art scene.
