Paloma Barcelò fall/winter 2016 collection

Hidden between the cliffs of Mount Everest and the Himalayan mountain chain, rises The Village of
Happiness.
The inspiration of Manuel Barcelò's imagination, for the FW16/17 Collection, runs wild in Tibet.
In the land where unknown faunas, cold faces and glacial temperatures persist year round, the
designer reaches his highest peak of creativity, developing a collection with multiple facets and
rich in tradition.
Fur is seen as a “redundant" element in a collection saturated with history.
Sculptural and empowering wedges which are viewed as elaborated structures, flow harmoniously
with the maison’s tradition. The Ying and the Yang of juxtaposed elements such as, past craftsmanship,
and futuristic creativity simultaneously subsiside.
Warm furs, trimmed mink, shearling Mongolian fur and astrakhan adorn the looks of unconventional
women, symbolizing power, yet maintaining the richness of tradition.
A #fashion that lives in the past yet alludes to the future, with a pallet of lively colors from intense
orange, canary yellow, forest green and reaching the more subtle nuances of muffled grey and blue.
Materials such as tweed, open toe shapes on sculptural wedges give a 70’s twist to the collection.
The maison Paloma Barcelò for the Fall/Winter collection presents a capsule of fur coats, jackets,
gloves and bags, all of which are drenched in fur and rich yet subtle leather as a symbol to the fashion
culture, defining the idea of the "total look" in perfect harmony with the maison #fashion concept.
For this winter we can confirm a creative identity of a brand that, can be defined well beyond the
concept of cord.
Ironic and stubborn Manuel Barceló surprises once again, traveling beyond all borders bringing Tibet
to the western world.
